MORE OF MY TREASURES

These ones aren't even candle holders (well ... one sort of is now). There is so much positive symbolism of course in a heart-shaped box – wow, even the name conjures up wonder and mystery. Promise and hope. A little bit of sadness, perhaps. Here are three lovely little heart-shaped treasures I've picked up over the years.

I could never claim one to be my favorite. Each has its own little meaning to me/feeling to me. But check out this one.

Right now it contains some of my stones. Other times I've tucked away a few acorns I've found along my path, or a small white feather. Look at the roses engraved upon this pewter top. The rose is one of my writing symbols. So yes, I was very pleased to have found this treasure many moons ago.

This is probably the oldest of this trio, though I've no idea how old it is. And yet another one dollar find! I really get a feeling of 'secrecy' from this. Strange as it may seem. Did the previous owner hold secret wishes inside, tucked away until they came to be. A trinket from a lost lover? A ring that meant something bittersweet? Or does it await a secret from me, one that I've yet to possess? I always keep the cover on this box. Why? Not entirely sure, but it feels like it should be closed. Don't get me wrong – this heart has a good, good feeling to it ... the lid just undisputedly belongs in place. Yeah, it's definitely a secret keeper.

The last one? No, not a candle holder per se.

But the rose on top is perfectly structured to hold a taper candle in place. So what would a person do with this? Write out a wish, a prayer, a hope, one's heart desire, onto a piece of paper, place it in this heart-shaped box (never to be opened until said prayer came true), light a candle every night and send hope to the stars?

Can't you imagine the positive energy from this? I really, really can!
