OSCAR PICKS - PART DEUX

Okay, Heather’s had her say. Now it’s Norah’s turn to pick the Oscar winners.

Best Movie  I’m predicting The Social Network will snag Best Picture. I have to admit my personal favourite was Inception (OMG, I completely forgot one of those layers until the film jerked me back up!), but I don’t think it’s going to take the prize. If The Social Network gets derailed by anything, I think it’ll be by The King’s Speech.

Best Actor  I’m going to go way out there on a limb and pick James Franco in 127 Hours for his depiction of the true story mountain climber who sawed his own arm off after getting trapped in a canyon, then climbing and hiking back to safety. Of course, it will probably go to Colin Firth, and I won’t begrudge him if it does. But I love James Franco!

Best Actress  Going out even further on that limb, I’m picking Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine. My head tells me Annette Bening (The Kids Are All Right), but I’m going with the sentimental pick. Go, Michelle!

As for a wager ... how about admission to the next movie we watch together? You get more right than I do, then I pay, and vice versa. If it’s a tie, we go Dutch.
