IT'S NOT ROCKET SURGERY

By Norah Wilson
(the Wilson in Wilson Doherty)

I’m fascinated by language and pop culture and the way new words and expressions arise. My new favorite expression – “It’s not rocket surgery.” I just love this deliberate mashup of “rocket science” and “brain surgery”. It makes me smile.

I guess it makes lots of people smile, because when I Googled the expression, it’s all over the Interwebs. And it’s the title of this pretty cool song by Amy Kuney.

DREAM WORK UPDATE

by Heather the Jane

A few weeks ago, I blogged that I was having success with the dream materials (stones and dream pillow) I purchased. Thought it was time to give a bit of an update.

HOW A COVER IS BORN

By Norah Wilson (the Wilson in Wilson Doherty)

I am in the process of putting some of my older romance stories (written solo under my real name, Norah Wilson) up on Amazon for sale as Kindle publications, and on Smashwords (great site!). But before a book can go up for sale, it needs a cover. And if you have any hope of getting into the premium catalogue for the widest distribution, it has to be a professional looking cover.

THE ABOMINABLE DR. PHIBES - A flashback movie review

by Heather the Jane

I love old movies. Well, not all old movies. The mysteries, the sci-fi, and the scary ones. Oh, and anything with the late Vincent Price in it (which of course, will probably fall under the category of creepy and scary anyway). Last night Brandon (my oldest son) and I popped the 1971 classic The Abominable Dr. Phibes into the DVD player.
